Set up Khmer fonts

Hi, this is my first article for my blog. This is about how to setup khmer fornts on ubuntu both true type fonts and unicode. To install khmer fonts you can do following :
  1. Copy the fonts files from Microsoft Windows (C:\Windows\Fonts) or you can download it from internet by searching on google, yahoo or the other search engine.
  2. Create new folder to store new fonts in " /usr/local/share " Ex. cambodia and place all copy's fonts you wish to install on this new folder.
  3. Open terminal ( Application -> Accessories -> Terminal) the type $sudo fc-cache -fv to clear cache.
  4. To be able to type unicode in ubuntu go to (System -> Preferences -> Keyboard -> Layouts ->Add ) from Layouts select cambodia and click Add
  5. After you Add cambodia keyboard you can set Layout Options and chose you favorite Layout switching

For Khmer Unicode font, why not installing 'ttf-khmeros' package?

I maintain this package for Debian, but I'm sure it has been adapted for Ubuntu as well.

Try:

# apt-get install ttf-khmeros

You, you can copy khmer fonts from any where like from window or ubuntu.
